The landscape design for Silvera for Seniors Affordable Housing focused on creating a sense of community and place through the development of two communal vegetable garden amenities each including planters, outdoor dining, bbq areas, moveable seating, and overhead pergolas.

Silvera for Seniors is a non-profit organization that provides a diverse selection of housing with services and support for independent seniors. Silvera is currently constructing an affordable seniors’ residence in the community of Livingston. This development will provide up to 60 units of affordable housing for seniors living independently.

The vegetable garden amenities provide numerous opportunities for residents to engage directly and passively with the outdoors and with each other, while also providing a slope adaptive design solution. Amenities around the garden beds include additional seating, harvest tables, BBQ areas, and an outdoor dog run.
