TULA led the design and installation of Hawkwood Community Park from community-supported concept development through detailed design, approvals, procurement, construction administration, completion, and warranty. The park is a highly programmed, four-season community hub combining active recreation, play, gathering, and flexible event spaces for users of varied ages and abilities.

Park amenities include Alberta’s first purpose-built parkour installation, tennis courts that convert to crokicurl in winter, a seasonally flooded skating area, central fire pit, zipline, climbing net, play circuit, gathering deck, canteen, and secure operational storage. Sustainable infrastructure includes on-site stormwater management and solar-energy generation to offset grid electricity consumption.

Construction required close coordination. TULA coordinated custom recreation equipment, multiple play surfaces, grading, drainage, lighting, power, canteen servicing, accessible circulation, and seasonal programming. Notably, TULA completed a risk and hazard assessment and developed parkour standards to support insurance approvals. The team worked with the client, City, and contractor to align design and construction scope with available community funding.

TULA led tendering, submittal and RFI reviews, site reviews, change coordination, deficiency inspections, and contract closeout. Continued project leadership supported timely field decisions and maintained design intent throughout construction.
