The Hawkwood Community Park will serve as a community hub, catalyzing community interaction and inspiring residents of all ages to enjoy the outdoors year round.

Emphasis was placed on providing a variety of recreational and social spaces throughout the site Hawkwood Community, with the goal for elements to flexibly accommodate more than one function. The tennis courts become a crokicurl surface in the winter, the sunken lawn can be flooded to provide a passive skating area around a central fire pit. The outdoor parkour zone sets a precedent as the first outdoor parkour facility implementation in Calgary and provide interest and usability for a wider demographic.

Sustainable initiatives will include managing all stormwater onsite and capturing solar energy to offset grid usage.
